Poles

The use of wood poles to hold up walls and poured floors.

A lot of new places are built with the foundation poured for the main floor. They build the upstairs to live in. As time, money and circumstances permit, they finish in the main floor. Until then, they use the main floor, from what I saw, as a place to park, fix cars, cook, do laundry, and for the kids to play when it rained.

Another example of where they used wood poles to support a ceiling / floor structure while the concrete cured.
